The Cognitive Health and Intelligence Centre (CHIC) is a a new research centre established in 2024 as part of the HSE Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience.

Mission: 

To explore the human brain, its cognitive functions, and neurobiological mechanisms, with the goal of enhancing intellectual productivity, cognitive health, and human well-being at all stages of life.

Priority Research Areas:

  • Neurocognitive bases of intellectual efficiency
  • Mechanisms of cognitive reserve
  • Behavioural genetics of cognitive functions
  • Mechanisms of learning and information acquisition
  • Bilingualism and linguistic communication
  • Multimodal interactions between cognitive systems (including embodied and grounded approaches to language and semantics)
