Winter school «Integrated Cognitive Neuroscience School: From Genes to Cognition»
The Cognitive Health and Intelligence Center of the HSE Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience invites senior undergraduate and master’s students to take part in a three-day in-person Winter School on cognitive psychology, neuroscience, neurolinguistics, and behavioural genetics. The programme includes lectures by leading researchers, a poster session, and hands-on introductions to EEG, eye-tracking, and non-invasive brain stimulation methods.
This intensive three-day offline winter school brings together leading researchers from CHIC and ICN at HSE University to provide graduating and master's students with a comprehensive introduction to contemporary cognitive psychology, neuroscience, neurolinguistics and genetics. Days 1 and Day 2 consist of lectures covering foundational and advanced topics. The Day 2 will conclude with organized poster sessions, during which participants will have the opportunity to present their research. The Day 3 includes hands-on training in the three principal neuroimaging, eyetracking, and neurostimulation methods used at HSE.
Participation in the School includes a poster presentation. When registering, applicants should upload an abstract of no more than 500 words, endorsed by their academic supervisor, along with a motivation letter of approximately one page. The abstract should briefly outline the relevance of the research, its aim, hypothesis, sample, methods and, where applicable, results.
Places are limited. The participation fee is RUB 5,000. Applications are open until 31 October 2026.
The School will be conducted in Russian and English. International speakers will deliver their lectures in English, and Russian-language handouts containing translations of the presentations will be provided to participants.
