The Cognitive Health and Intelligence Centre is a subdivision established in 2024 as part of the Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience.
Mission:
To explore the human brain, its cognitive functions, and neurobiological mechanisms, with the goal of enhancing intellectual productivity, cognitive health, and human well-being at all stages of life.
Priority Research Areas:
- Mechanisms of building cognitive reserve in people (a protective system that prevents and mitigates negative age-related processes and brain pathologies)
- Study of the neurocognitive bases of intellectual efficiency
- Psychogenetic research
- Study of the mechanisms of learning and information acquisition
- Research on the neurocognitive foundations of bilingualism and language communication
- Studies on the relationship between language abilities and basic systems of consciousness, including embodied approaches to language and semantics
