Psychological Foundations of Intellectual Productivity

Key research areas

Our research group focuses on comprehensive study of the psychological and neurocognitive mechanisms of intellectual efficiency. We work on topics such as:

  • Psychological and neurophysiological foundations of conceptual thinking, neuroefficiency;

  • Interaction of cognitive and emotional processes in solving intellectual tasks, metacognition;

  • Reading and comprehension of texts in various formats (verbal/iconic/multimodal; of literal/figurative meaning; with or without humor; printed/digital);

  • Plasticity of mental representations during learning and relearning;

  • Psychological and neurophysiological predictors of intellectual efficiency in different population groups;

  • Patterns of cognitive functioning in people whose cognitive abilities were formed or transformed under the influence of modern digital technologies;

  • Effects of embodied cognition in cognitive processes of various levels.
